Midwest Orthopaedics at RUSH
Your initial evaluation
At your initial sports foot and ankle evaluation, Dr. Bohl will ask you to describe the problem you’ve been experiencing, as well as your athletic priorities and goals. He will then perform a comprehensive sports foot and ankle exam, including of the all ligaments and tendons that support the foot and ankle. He will review your x-rays with you in-depth.
Dr. Bohl will then review any abnormal physical examination or radiographic findings. He will present you with the treatment options. In almost all cases, treatment can begin without surgery.
If your condition has been present for more than a month, Dr. Bohl may recommend an MRI. If you have already had an MRI, it is critical that you bring both the CD and the paper radiologist report to your clinic visit. Please hand carry these to the visit — do not rely on them being sent for you.
You are more than welcome to bring your coach, athletic trainer, therapist, or teammate for support.
